A routine that supports body, mind, and spirit
I’m proud of this routine because it is simple, realistic, and consistent. It does not depend on having a perfect morning.
It gives me a clean start, movement, fresh air, nourishing food, and a grounded spiritual beginning for the day.
I haven’t had a cold, flu, or been sick for well over a year now, and I believe this routine has helped.
1. Clean start
Wake-up oral-care routine
Another important part of my morning starts right after waking up. I use a tongue scraper first,
then gargle warm salt water from about a quarter of a glass without swallowing it, brush my teeth,
and drink a warm mix of half a cup of water with some lemon juice.
- Tongue scraper first
- Warm salt-water gargle
- Brush teeth
- Warm lemon water
2. Move first
12–15 minutes of exercise and stretching
I begin the active part of the morning with a short block of movement. It helps wake up my body,
loosen tight areas, improve circulation, and set a positive tone for the rest of the day.
- Gentle mobility and stretching
- Simple floor-based positions and holds
- A realistic routine I can keep doing consistently
3. Get outside
12–15 minute walk with sunlight if possible
After moving indoors, I like to step outside for a short walk. Fresh air, natural light,
and a change of scenery help me feel more awake, calm, and mentally ready for the day ahead.
- Fresh air and outdoor light
- A calm transition into the day
- A simple way to build consistency
4. Fuel well
A nutritious breakfast
Breakfast is an important part of my morning because it gives me steady fuel. My breakfasts often include
yoghurt, cereal or muesli, fruit, nuts, plant-based protein powder and sometimes toast or a warm drink.
It helps me feel ready and well-supported.
- Nutritious foods that feel sustainable
- Fruit, nuts, yoghurt, and other simple staples
- A consistent habit rather than an afterthought
5. Start grounded
Short devotion and time in God’s word
One of the most meaningful parts of my routine is a short time of devotion and reading God’s word.
It helps center my thinking, shape my perspective, and begin the day with peace rather than rush.
- A quiet spiritual foundation
- Stillness before the busyness of the day
- A reminder of what matters most
Why I’m proud of it
Small habits that add up
I’m proud of this routine because it reflects consistency, discipline, gratitude, health, and faith.
It is not flashy, but it is real. From oral care to movement to breakfast to devotion,
it helps me take care of myself in a balanced way.
- A clean and refreshing start
- Movement for my body
- Fresh air and light
- Nourishment and spiritual grounding
